Using WhyPark to Help Sell Domains

Depending on your domain selling system or how you make money domaining, WhyPark may slipstream very nicely into your existing process, saving you time, increasing the resale value of your domain and making you a couple bucks worth of PPC along the way.  Whatever your focus, and as a WhyPark user in the past (keep reading), I am newly intrigued by the compelling WhyPark Domain Apps recently added.

Whenever possible I prefer to develop domains in my portfolio and monetize them with niche affiliate programs, but there are other times when my first priority for a particular domain is to flip it.   In scenarios like this WhyPark offers one of the quickest and easiest ways to get relevant content on a site before I start promoting the domain for sale.   Prospective buyers are more likely to get out the checkbook if they visit a domain and find what appears to be a flourishing and active web community.

Here are just some of the new Domain Apps I’m looking forward to trying:

Comparison Shopping
I recommend this one for keyword product domains. Shows a potential buyer that people are really looking for this product, plus you can earn PPC revenue while you try to sell it.
Hotel Directory
Great for travel or geo related domains. Can actually filter and sort hotels by class, features and more within your page. Content is genuine.
Local Business Listings
Display local business listings and maps based on keyword. I’m going to move my domain LocalComputerConsultant.com off of Sedo and try this WhyPark app on it instead.
Online Flash Games
Integrate flash games from niche categories into your game-related website so that visitors can click to pay games right from your site. Pretty cool.
Twitter Stream
Displays the most recent Twitter posts that match your keywords or you can stream directly from your Twitter account. Content never gets stale.

So What’s The Downside?

WhyPark in my opinion is one of the most visually compelling platforms out there. In a matter of minutes (literally) you can build a content rich site that offers multiple ways to monetize the traffic. Plus if you’re looking to flip domains, a professional looking site will help you in your prospecting and will help maximize the sale price.

Really my only negative comment is that I have yet to see WhyPark sites rank well in search engines.

Point in fact, just checked out the new offering and saw the example of TropicalBeaches.com as a WhyPark site. The visual and content is professional and relevant, but an exact search of “tropical beaches” in Google doesn’t pull up tropicalbeaches.com anywhere (at least not in the 1st 5 pages of results). By contrast, tropicalbeaches.org shows up on page 2 (a 5 post WordPress blog) and tropicalbeaches.net is on page 3 (a SmartName parked page). I realize tropicalbeaches.com may be new so if anyone has any other WhyPark sites that rank well for exact domain keyword searches I would love to hear about it.

In the mean-time, while I do not expect to reap huge windfalls of PPC revenue from my WhyPark pages, I am very satisfied with the platform and use it primarily to increase the perceived value of a domain marked for resale. Visually displaying to a prospective buyer that a domain has a useful purpose (by seeing a developed site) is in my opinion one of the best ways to sell domains faster and for higher prices. I do not rely on any one platform to do this but WhyPark is definitely on the list.
